STILL

SHORT FILM | GECKO THEATRE - MAGIC ME

ROLE: DIRECTOR.

A poetic short film that explores the extraordinary potential within the everyday lives of the residents of Lime Court care home. Created as part of Gecko Theatre’s residency in partnership with Magic Me, the UK’s leading intergenerational arts charity, the film emerged from intimate one-to-one conversations, physical workshops, and shared moments with the residents. Led by Associate Director Helen Baggett and devising performer Miguel Torres Umba, and directed by Miguel, Still was filmed by Rich Rusk inside a purpose-built studio within the care home, transforming a single room into shifting emotional landscapes. Through Gecko’s signature physicality and visual storytelling, the film honours the residents of Lime Court: still powerful and proud. Still sensual and strong. Still elegant and energetic. Still a part of us. They are still here.
